Our Environmental Management Policy

Çimko Cement has established Management Policy, which includes environmental policy within the scope of Integrated Management System and announced it to all employees and the public. Çimko Cement, has the Environmental Management System certificate in TS-EN-ISO 14001 in Adıyaman and Narli Factories. In Ready-Mixed Concrete facilities, it acts within the defined environmental policy.

  • The top management of our company has determined the environmental policy in accordance with our purpose, size and scope of our fields of activity and our policy has been documented accordingly.
  • Said document compliances with legal requirements and relevant standards, commits to the continuous improvement of the environmental management system with the objectives and programs that will support the policy
  • This document, which is approved by the senior management, is transferred to all employees within the institution and they are working in accordance with the rules.If a change in the specified environmental policy is envisaged it is evaluated at the Management Review meetings immediately if not at least once a year.

Our Environmental Management Program

Çimko Cement, within the framework of the goals and objectives determined in accordance with the Management Policy, takes into account the environmental factors, the activities that may be considered important in the process of evaluating the environmental elements, the activities that may arise from the legal requirements, and the Environmental Department in order to plan and follow the Environmental Management System practices.

Environmental Management Program; changes in policy, target and legal requirements, the decisions taken in the Management Review Meetings are reviewed with the technological requirements, the Environmental Management System requirements, the changes in the working conditions, the outputs of the evaluation of the environmental elements, the suggestions made by the employees and related parties and the comparison studies with other organizations and the necessary revisions are made in the program.

The implementation of the Environmental Management Program and the follow-up activities are monitored periodically and the effectiveness of the decisions taken as an indicator of system performance and the planned arrangements are monitored.

In order to facilitate environmental management in our facilities, the responsibilities of the employees who implement and verify the work that affect the environmental risks are included in the job descriptions. While the ultimate responsibility for environmental management is on top management, the environment is also the responsibility of all employees who manage, implement and expose environmental risks to the work site. All employees are aware of the need to use their knowledge and skills in the best way to improve environmental performance

Our Goals and Targets in Environmental Management

Environmental factors have been evaluated in relation to Çimko activities and environmental impact assessments have been made. Recognizing environmental impacts and minimizing environmental pollution by supporting employees with annual trainings constitutes the basis of environmental activities.

Implementation targets are included within the annual Environmental Management Program.

In the evaluation of physical measurement results made by external neutral organizations, it is aimed to work below the limit values in the relevant regulations.

Among our other goals and objectives that we have identified within the scope of our responsibility towards the environment;

  • To comply with the applicable legal regulations, national and international standards and other conditions that we have established in accordance with these legal regulations within the scope of our management systems and activities.
  • To determine environmental dimensions and to prevent environmental pollution through continuous improvement activities by making risk analyzes.
  • To continuously improve energy saving and efficiency, to reduce the resource consumption, support the purchase of product service and design we take measures by determining important energy dimensions.
  • To encourage people to take initiative with the continuity of education on environment, ready to question and take responsibility and to be focused on success
  • To monitor and apply the validated technologies.
  • To ensure that all employees, visitors, subcontractors and suppliers and other third parties comply and contribute to our management systems
  • To make analysis of waste water in accordance with the regulations and to ensure 100% utilization in the process.
  • To increase the waste water quality and to reduce water consumption by 5%
  • Separating all wastes at their source, determining their quantities and delivering all of them to disposal or recycling facilities
  • To minimize the emission of dust and emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) to the minimum by afforestation works at the plant site
  • By using ergonomic driving training in the vehicles used in our Ready-Mixed Concrete facilities, reducing fuel consumption and minimizing the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2)
  • To determine the possible positive and negative effects of the projects planned to be carried out in the environment, to prevent or minimize the negative effects to the environment, to determine the measures to be taken, to determine and to evaluate the selected place and technology alternatives.
